Maharashtra CM approves filling of 100% posts in government engineering colleges

Maharashtra CM has also approved filling up vacancies of teachers and non-teaching staff in non-agricultural public universities and non-government colleges to improve higher education.
Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis has approved filling up 100% posts at engineering government-aided institutions in the state. CM also approved the proposal to fill up the vacant posts of teachers and non-teaching staff in non-agricultural public universities and non-government colleges, as per the new education policy, to improve higher education.
CM has also given instructions that the outline of teachers and non-teaching staff in non-agricultural universities should be completed as soon as possible. CM approved the proposal during a review meeting held to discuss the various issues of the higher and technical education department at Vidhan Bhavan.
According to the official Maharashtra statement, the CM said that the number of technological universities in the state is low, and it is necessary to keep universities running at full capacity, which will provide opportunities to students.

Maharashtra CM has directed to approval of 105 teaching posts and one teacher equivalent post at Lakshminarayan Innovative Technological University, along with Rs 3 crore to meet its administrative expenses like other universities. CM has also approved filling 788 teaching posts and 2,242 non-teaching posts.
A total of 5,012 vacant assistant professor posts in non-government aided colleges under the Directorate of Higher Education have been approved.
As per the official statement, 100% posts in other government-aided institutions in the state, including
Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI)
and Shri Gurugovind Singh
Engineering College
, Nanded, and a revised structure of a total of 603 posts was also approved for Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University.

CM has also approved the proposal to increase the library grant by 40% and has instructed that this proposal should be sent to the finance department immediately. CM said libraries in category 'A', 'B', 'C' and 'D' have been inspected and their upgrading has been approved.
CM has asked to submit a proposal for approval of new libraries in the same proportions as the approval of 1,706 libraries in the state has been canceled. A proposal of special incentive grants to public libraries completing 50,75,100 years in the state has been accepted. CM also said that a department of science and technology should be established.
Many officials were present at the meeting, including higher and technical education minister Chandrakant Patil, additional chief secretary Venugopal Reddy, additional chief secretary of finance department OP Gupta, vice chancellor of Lakshminarayan Innovative Technology (LIT) University, and others.
