Mumbai University BCom semester 6 exams begin tomorrow; over 54,000 students to appear

NEW DELHI: The University of Mumbai will commence the Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) Semester 6 examinations for the summer session of the academic year 2024-25 tomorrow, March 18, 2025. A total of 54,892 students are set to appear for the exams, which will be conducted across 284 exam centres. The exams will be conducted at affiliated colleges across Mumbai, Mumbai suburbs, Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, and Palghar districts.

The university will also conduct examinations for other self-financed courses alongside the Bachelor of Commerce (BCom), including Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS), Bachelor of Accounting and Finance, and Bachelor of Banking and Insurance. The hall tickets for all examinations were made available to students in advance through their login portals.

As per official figures, a total of 82,995 students have registered for all the exams, including 73,309 regular candidates and 9,692 repeaters. Of these, 39,617 are female students and 43,377 are male students. For the BCom exams specifically, 28,611 male students and 26,274 female students have registered.

Examination system reforms implemented

According to the official press release, Mumbai University’s examination department has completed all necessary preparations, holding meetings with lead and cluster colleges to ensure the smooth conduct of exams.

The university has also implemented reforms in the examination system, including online attendance tracking, barcode usage, and student detail stickers. Pooja Raundale, director of the board of examination and evaluation, stated that the university is focused on ensuring timely and accurate evaluation to declare results within the stipulated time.
