NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) is scheduled to declare the result of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET 2021) soon at neet.nta.nic.in. NEET result 2021 date and time is yet to be notified. The preliminary answer key of NEET-UG 2021 has been released, and the challenging process is over.

Candidates will be able to check the NEET result 2021 on neet.nta.nic.in and nta.ac.in. More than 16 lakh candidates can check their NEET results in the form of a scorecard using the registration number, date of birth and password. NEET 2021 exam was held on September 12.
After the declaration of the result, the NTA will prepare an All-India merit list of qualified candidates for NEET 2021. The merit list mentions the NEET ranks and scores obtained by the aspirants. The NTA follows an inter-se merit method to break the tie between the candidates with the same rank.
NEET 2021 result: Tie-breaking criteria
In case if the rank of two or more candidates will be equal, then the NTA will use a tie-breaking process to resolve the tie. In the following order will the inter-se merits be decided:

Candidates obtaining higher marks/percentile scores in Biology (Botany and Zoology) in the test will be awarded the better rank, followed by

Students with higher marks/percentile scores in Chemistry in the NEET exam

At last, aspirants with less number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in all the subjects in the test
Changes in NEET tie-breaker method
The NEET brochure was released on July 13, 2021, with a change in tie-breaking criteria. This year, the age factor has been removed from the NEET 2021 result criteria of deciding the inter-se merit of candidates. Thus, there would be no advantage given to older candidates when the NTA puts together the merit list.
The NEET 2021 exam was conducted for admission to 83,075 medical, 26,949 dental, 52,720 AYUSH, and 603 veterinary seats across India. From this year, BSc nursing admissions will also be done through NEET 2021 results. Once the NEET result is declared, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) and respective state counselling authorities will start the NEET-UG counselling for 15% All India Quota (AIQ), 85% state quota, all deemed/central universities, ESIC/AFMS institutes, AIIMS and JIPMER.
