NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has declared the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) UG result 2024 for re-exam held on June 23. Candidates who appeared for re NEET can download the NEET results 2024 from the official website, exams.nta.ac.in/NEET/.

Students will need their login credentials such as application number and date of birth to download the NTA NEET score card 2024. The NEET 2024 revised score card will mention the candidate’s revised marks and rank along with other details.
NEET result 2024 has been prepared on the basis of the final answer key for retest which was issued on June 30. Candidates were allowed to raise objections against the NEET UG provisional answer key 2024 by June 29.
NEET re-exam was announced for 1,563 candidates who were awarded grace marks in the May 5 exam, however, 750 candidates didn’t take it. NTA announced a re-exam for these students following widespread controversy and the Supreme Court’s cancellation of their NEET 2024 results.

The NEET 2024 retest was held due to alleged irregularities in the exam, including claims of a paper leak and students being awarded grace marks for time loss during the exam. The NEET 2024 retest was conducted for a total of 1,563 candidates who had been granted grace marks.
As per NDTV, opposition MPs walkout in the Lok Sabha after their demand for a debate on the NEET controversy was ignored, and BJP leader Anurag Thakur began discussing President Droupadi Murmu's address instead. As per NDTV report, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge said, "There was no vision, direction in President's address to Parliament. There was no mention of poor, Dalits or minorities in the address.
The National Board of Examinations (NBE) is expected to conduct the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET PG) in August, according to The Indian Express report. However, the exact NEET PG 2024 revised date is yet to be announced.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested Dixit Patel, owner of Jay Jalaram School situated near Godhra over NEET scam. Jay Jalaram School was one of the designated centres where the NEET UG 2024 exam was held on May 5. Patel is the sixth person to be arrested in this case wherein the accused had allegedly demanded Rs 10 lakh each from at least 27 candidates to help them clear the test.

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will begin the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Masters of Dental Surgery (NEET MDS) 2024 counselling registration today, July 1. The NEET MDS 2024 counselling registration form will be available at mcc.nic.in. The last date to register for round 1 NEET MDS 2024 counselling is July 7 till 12 noon.

Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan has been under attack over NEET UG 2024 with the opposition demanding his resignation. Meanwhile, the heads of the central government institutes have been praising the government's initiatives for 'smooth' conduct of exam on social media. The education minister formed a high-level committee to look into the irregularities and ordered CBI probe into paper leak allegations.

With the NEET 2024 revised result, the number of NEET toppers 2024 has dropped to 61. Of the 6 toppers, 5 candidates took the NEET re-exam but couldn't score the perfect 720. The remaining one aspirant will have to accept actual scores before the addition of grace marks, as per NTA's instructions. Therefore, 6 students have dropped off the NEET toppers list 2024. A total of 67 candidates had topped the exam held on May 5.

The ministry of health and family welfare recently told Lok Sabha said that the number of MBBS seats has been increased by 112% from 51,348 before 2014 to 1,08,940 as of now. Admission to MBBS programme in government and private medical colleges is conducted through the National Eligibility Entrance Test - Undergraduate (NEET UG) which is the largest national-level entrance exam in India.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has updated NEET 2024 scores and NEET 2024 rank of all candidates including those who appeared for the re-exam held on June 23. Students can check their revised NEET score card and revised ranks in candidate portal at exams.nta.ac.in/NEET/. 1,563 candidates who were award grace marks were given the option to appear for retest or settle for their marks before the addition of compensatory marks. 813 aspirants took the exam again whose results have been declared now.
NEET counselling date 2024 will be announced soon, said Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan earlier. The NEET UG counselling 2024 schedule will be announced on the official website, mcc.nic.in. Students who have secured ranks in NEET UG 2024 will be eligible to apply for the counselling for admission to MBBS, BDS programmes. The Supreme Court had refused to put a stay on counselling despite aspirants' demand following NEET controversy.

The allegations of paper leak, result declaration before scheduled date, awarding of grace marks were some of the issues that concerned candidates. Even when the Supreme Court cancelled the NEET results 2024 of 1,563 candidates who were given compensatory marks and NTA announced a re-exam for them, students were not satisfied and demanded cancellation of the entire result as well as re NEET for all.

The government has sought views and suggestions from students, parents, and others on the reforms in the examination process conducted through the National Testing Agency (NTA). The high-level committee formed by the ministry of education to look into the functioning of NTA and suggest exam reforms decided to take suggestions from public before making recommendations. The panel was formed following the recent incidents of paper leaks and malpractices.
The Coaching Federation of India (CFI) suggested that strict action be taken if any coaching is found to be involved in unfair means in NEET exam. it suggested that the NEET exam should be held twice and an education task force should be formed to keep a check on irregularities in the exam.

Amidst demands of investigation into alleged NEET paper leak, union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan had said that NEET UG counselling 2024 will commence soon. "Counselling process of NEET will be underway soon and it is of utmost importance to move ahead in this direction without any confusion," he wrote in a post on X.
NTA issued the NEET 2024 final answer key for the re-exam on June 30. The final key has been prepared after verifying the challenges made by the candidates against the provisional answer key. NEET re-exam 2024 was conducted on June 23 for 1,563 candidates, however, 750 students didn't appear.
NTA announced a re-exam for 1,563 candidates of NEET UG 2024 based on the recommendations of the ‘high-powered’ committee formed to look into the grievances raised by other candidates over grace marks. NTA has issued the revised NEET score card 2024 of all candidates along with 1,563 candidates for whom re-exam was held. "It is now informed that revised Score Cards of all Candidates of NEET(UG) 2024 (including of 1563 Candidates who appeared in the Re-Test on 23 June 2024), are being hosted on the website (https://exams.nta.ac.in/NEET/). Candidates can login to the website and view/download/print their respective revised Score Cards," said NTA in an official notice.

NEET retest will be held tomorrow. This year’s debacle should have prompted a reconsideration of such mammoth, centralised exams. Instead, just the NTA's functioning will be examined by an education ministry-appointed panel.
