NEET UG 2025 Registration LIVE: NTA NEET form expected today at neet.nta.nic.in; exam date, eligibility

The NTA conducted the NEET UG exam 2025 on May 5 for a record number of 24 lakh registered candidates last year. The single-largest medical entrance exam is expected to be held in May this year as well.

Top 10 medical colleges in India, as per the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF 2024) published by the ministry of education.

The NEET score and merit list will be used for shortlisting candidates for the four-year BSc Nursing course. Military Nursing Service (MNS) aspirants seeking BSc Nursing admissions offered at Armed Forces Medical Service Hospitals for the year 2025 will also have to qualify NEET UG.

After the NEET UG registration last date 2025, the NTA opens the correction window for candidates to edit the details entered in the application form. Students will be allowed to make edits in the NEET form till the correction facility is available; usually NTA gives a few days to rectify discrepancies if any.

NEET UG brochure 2025 will be uploaded on the official website, neet.nta.nic.in, along with the registration link. "Information Bulletin for NEET UG 2025 which will be made available in the website (www.neet. nta.nic. in) in due course at the time of launch of application for," the latest NEET NTA notice read.

There will be a total of 180 compulsory questions in NEET UG 2025 exam. The exam will be held for a duration of 3 hours.

Candidates can check the NEET PYQ for physics and chapter-wise topics asked, as per the previous years' question paper.

The NEET UG was marred with several irregularities including paper leak and impersonation . Multiple arrests were made in Bihar. Earlier this month, the CBI registered a fresh case against 8 for alleged impersonation, cheating and forgery of documents. The principal of SRDAV public school, one of the centres for the NEET exam held on May 5 last year, has alleged that the candidates' biometrics showed four impersonators were taking the exam in place of registered students.

The NTA is expected to announce the NEET registration date soon. Students will have to fill the application form by providing personal and academic details such as educational qualification, category, address, personal details. They are also required to upload all necessary documents and pay the requisite application fee.

Students will have to upload the following documents in the specified format while filling the NEET UG application form 2025.

• A recent photograph either in colour or black and white with 80% face visible including ears against a white background.
• Scanned photograph, signature, and left and right hand fingers and thumb impression in JPG format  with file size between 10 kb to 200 kb.
• The size of the scanned postcard photograph (4”x6”) should be between 10 kb - 200 kb.
• The size of the scanned signature should be between 4 kb to 30 kb
• The size of scanned and left and right hand fingers and thumb impressions should be between 10 kb to 200 kb.
• A scanned copy of the PwBD certificate/UDID (Swavlamban) card should be uploaded with file size not exceeding 300 kb.

The NTA has reverted to pre-COVID exam format by removing the optional questions from the NEET UG question paper . Candidates will now have to answer all 180 questions - 45 each in physics and chemistry and 90 questions in biology. The NTA had introduced the optional question in section B during COVID-19 pandemic as a one-time measure. As per the revised format, the NEET exam will be held for a duration of 3 hours.

The NEET UG registration fees vary for categories. It is mandatory to pay the application fee to successfully complete the registration process.

A total of 1,08,940 MBBS seats will be filled through the NEET UG 2025. As per the data shared by the health ministry, Tamil Nadu has the highest number of 5,275 MBBS seats, followed by Maharashtra with 5,125.

The NEET UG syllabus 2025 was notified by the Undergraduate Medical Education Board (UGMEB) of the National Medical Commission (NMC). Students will be able to download the NEET syllabus PDF through the official website, nmc.org.in.

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has decided to conduct the NEET UG 2025 exam in pen and paper mode in single day and single shift. The exam was marred with irregularities, paper leak allegations, mismanagement, which led to the Supreme Court directing the ministry of education to set up a high-level committee to review the functioning of the NTA. Despite the expert panel's suggestion to hold the exam in hybrid mode and multiple sessions, the NMC has retained the old exam format.

MBBS aspirants will have to download the NEET UG information bulletin first to check the eligibility criteria. Those who fulfill the eligibility criteria should register only through the official website, neet.nta.nic.in.

• Visit the NTA NEET UG official website, neet.nta.nic.in 2025.
• Click on the NEET application form link given on the homepage. (Not active yet).
• Proceed to enter a valid email address and mobile number.
• Now, enter a valid password and answer a security question.
• Login credentials will be sent to the registered mobile number and email ID.
• Enter the application number and password generated on the login link.
• Fill in the application form with all required personal and academic details.
• NEET registration fee should be paid through online mode.
• Review the details entered and download the NEET confirmation page for future reference.

The NTA has clarified that APAAR ID , a 12-digit identity number for consolidating their academic achievements, is not mandatory for NEET registration. In its notification for NEET UG 2025, the NTA encouraged aspirants to update their Aadhaar credentials and integrate their APAAR ID before applying for the entrance exam. However, later it relaxed the requirement.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is likely to host the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Undergraduate ( NEET UG 2025 ) application form on the official website, neet.nta.nic.in, as per the Business Standard report. Students will have to register for the exam to appear in the MBBS medical entrance examination.
