In a recent directive, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has instructed all medical colleges to remain vigilant and ensure that students do not engage in any activities that could affect the smooth conduct of the NEET UG exam. Reports from previous years indicated involvement of some medical students in unfair practices. To curb this, colleges have been advised not to grant leave on May 2 and 3, except in exceptional cases with valid justification.
Candidates appearing for the exam must adhere to the NEET UG 2026 dress code guidelines . Light clothing with short sleeves is recommended, while slippers or low-heeled sandals are permitted. Those wearing customary attire should report early to allow sufficient time for frisking. Any medical exemptions will require prior approval from the NTA. Strict security measures, including biometric verification, will be in place to ensure a fair examination process. NEET UG is conducted annually by the NTA for admissions to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BUMS, BSMS, and BHMS courses.
