NEET PG 2023: FAIMA demanding exam postponement protest at Jantar Mantar

NEW DELHI: The Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) held protests at Jantar Mantar today, February 7 demanding the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET PG) be postponed. NEET PG 2023 is scheduled to be held on March 5 and the federation wants the exam to be deferred till May-June 2023.

Conveying that this has been the year that the NEET PG aspirants are adjusting with the delays of Covid pandemic and healthcare sector playing a major role, FAIMA requested the government to postpone NEET PG 2023 “with immediate effect” and allow maximum interns to take part in the examination system.

“At present with the eligibility bar for interns with June 30 and exam date on March 5, there is a large gap between the counselling and the examination date, this time could be utilised by the students to study for the examination and persue their dream subject. In this period doctors will not get any jobs as well,” FAIMA added.

The protest at Jantar Mantar today was attended by FAIMA Chairman Dr Rohan Krishnan, founder FAIMA Dr Manish Jangra, Chief Advisor Dr. Deepak Suman, IMM Past President, Dr Rakesh Bagdi, chief advisor Dr Ganesh Meena and 50 protesting doctors. The protests, FAIMA statement said, were held as per the guidelines of Delhi Police.
