NEET PG Result 2026: Aspirants allege 50-100 mark mismatch, seek answer keys with question papers

Multiple students have taken to social media, claiming discrepancies of nearly 50-100 marks between their expected and actual NEET PG 2026 scores and ranks. Students are now demanding that NBEMS release the official answer keys along with the question papers to assess the transparency of the NEET PG result evaluation process. Extending support to the students, junior doctors and other college students pointed out that several other exam-conducting bodies, such as the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), release answer keys along with question papers, ensuring transparency in the result preparation process.

“There was a 40–45 mark difference between my actual score and the score I calculated using recalls from 2–3 different platforms, which cost me around 7–8k ranks,” a student posted on X (formerly Twitter).

According to NBEMS, candidates will have access to NEET PG question ID numbers, correct answers, candidates’ recorded responses, and scores awarded for each question on or after October 1.

Discrepancies in NEET PG result 2026

“Around 120 marks difference in mine too. And no possibility of even verifying the discrepancy due to the absurd answer key that would be provided,” another user posted on X and said.

The national spokesperson of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) Dhruv Chauhan, took to social media X and asked students to respond on the platform, raising their grievances. He further alleged that several students have raised concerns over a mismatch between the number of correct answers they calculated using recall-based answer keys and their actual results, leaving them unable to understand the source of the discrepancy.

“Difference in marks as per recall vs what’s actually got. Difference more than 100 + marks for many. They are asking for transparency to release answers and questions not codes,” another user said on X.

Supreme Court directive

Following the Supreme Court’s directive, NBEMS will issue the NEET PG answer keys this year; however, students have raised concerns that even if they have access to the answer keys, they will not be able to match the answers with the questions in the PG paper.

NBEMS question paper policy

NBEMS will only provide the NEET PG answer key 2026 along with question IDs. As per NBEMS policy, it is prohibited to share any content of the examination, including the question paper and/or answers to the questions.

NEET PG Result 2026

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has declared the NEET PG results 2026, and the scorecard will be made accessible on the official website on or after October 1. This year's NEET PG 2026 qualifying cut-off stands at 262 for the general and EWS categories, 244 for general PwBD, and 226 for SC, ST, and OBC candidates.

NEET PG Topper scored All India Rank (AIR) 1 with 641 marks out of 720, and 20 aspirants scored between 614 and 641 marks.

MCC NEET PG Counselling 2026

Candidates who have cleared the exam will be eligible for MCC NEET PG counselling. The top court issued around 10 directives for NEET PG counselling, which also included strict penalties for seat blocking.

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) conducts NEET PG counselling for 50% All India Quota (AIQ) seats, central universities, deemed universities, and ESIC institutes. Moreover, the state authorities manage the remaining 50% state quota seats through their respective state counseling portals.

The health minister, J P Nadda, told the Lok Sabha that there are 86,360 postgraduate medical seats , with Karnataka comprising most of them. Centre has approved an additional 5,000 PG medical seats by 2028-29.
