NEW DELHI : The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to announce the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET UG) 2025 registration date soon. Eligible candidates will be able to fill NEET UG registration form 2025 on the official website, neet.nta.nic.in.

NEET 2025 exam date will be announced along with the NEET registration 2025. NTA will release the NEET UG 2025 information bulletin containing eligibility criteria, exam pattern, marking scheme, syllabus, registration fee, among other details.
NTA has clarified that an APAAR ID is not mandatory for NEET 2025 registration, and encouraged applicants to use other means.
As per the revised NEET 2025 exam pattern , section B will not have optional questions anymore. The exam will be held for a total of 180 questions. Candidates will get three hours to write the test. The NEET 2025 question paper will comprise three sections – physics, chemistry, and mathematics. Physics and chemistry will contain 45 questions each while biology will have 90 questions.
The National Medical Commission (NMC) has decided to conduct NEET UG in a pen-and-paper mode in a single shift. NEET UG syllabus 2025 is available on the official website.
NEET is held every year for admission to MBBS, BDS, BVSc and AH, AYUSH, and other undergraduate medical programmes.

NEET 2025 Registration: Eligibility criteria for NRI, OCI, foreigners
As per the NEET eligibility criteria, the Non-Resident Indian (NRI) and Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI) applicants are required to upload a certificate from the concerned Indian diplomatic mission in the country of their residence in support of their claim as an NRI/OCI candidate at the time of NEET 2025 registration. Similarly, a foreign applicant will also need to upload a documentary proof (a valid passport or a certificate from the competent authority in the country of their nationality regarding their citizenship status) in support of nationality.

Will NEET happen twice in 2025?
No, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has decided to conduct the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET UG) 2025 only once for the academic session 2025-26. The high-level expert committee on NTA exam reforms did suggest conducting the medical entrance exam in multiple phases, however, the commission didn't implement the recommendation.

In the Union budget 2025, finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced the addition of 10,000 MBBS seats in India in the next year. However, the medical experts and healthcare professionals criticised the move saying simply adding medical seats won't solve healthcare-related issues in the country.

NEET UG 2025: New Ayurveda course leading to BAMS
The National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) has introduced a new Pre-Ayurveda Programme (PAP), for a Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) degree. The programme will start at senior secondary level and the eligibility is Class 10. For admission to the 7.5 year Ayurveda programme, students will be required to fill a NEET-PAP form.
