NEW DELHI: Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) announces the extension on reporting for round-1 of National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) UG counselling 2022 till 4PM on October 29, 2022.
The committee extended the deadline after it received requests from students and colleges for an extension of time of reporting. Previously, reporting was scheduled on October 28, 2022. A recent MCC notification announced that candidates who have been allotted seats in round-1 of NEET UG counselling can resign till 5PM on November 1.

After November 1, candidates who do not resign will be considered as a part of the NEET UG counselling round-2. The MCC advises candidates to that they generate a resignation letter (through a portal provided by MCC) by the allotted college. If they fails to do so, the resignation will be deemed 'null and void'. In this case, the candidate will still hold their allotted seat.
MCC also informed that if candidate gives consent for upgradation in NEET UG counselling 2022 round-2, continues to participate in round-2 counselling but is not upgraded, they are not allowed to resign the seat allotted in round-2 and will have to retain the seat. “In such a case rules of Round-2 will apply since the candidate has exercised choices and participated in Round-2. There is no option of resignation if the candidate is not upgraded in round-2,” the MCC notification stated.
MCC announced the results of UG counselling round-1 on October 21, 2022. The candidates were then asked to report to the allotted college and join round-2 unless they are willing to forfeit their security deposit.
