NIFT 2026 registration ends tomorrow with late fee; apply at exams.nta.nic.in/niftee

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will close the application window for the National Institute of Fashion Technology Entrance Examination (NIFTEE 2026) with the late fee tomorrow, January 19. Candidates can submit their NIFT 2026 application form on the official website at exams.nta.nic.in/niftee.

Candidates belonging to the General, Gen-EWS, and OBC (NCL) categories are required to pay a NIFT application fee of Rs 7,000, which includes a regular fee of Rs 2,000 and a late fee of Rs 5,000. Candidates from the SC and ST categories will have to pay Rs 5,500, which includes a regular fee of Rs 500 and a late fee of Rs 5,000.

For the BDes, BFTech, MDes, and MFM programmes, General category candidates are required to pay Rs 8,000, which includes a regular fee of Rs 3,000, while reserved category candidates have to pay Rs 5,750.

As per the schedule, the NIFT 2026 exam for admission to undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), lateral entry (NLEA), artisans, and PhD programmes will be conducted on February 8 in hybrid mode, across 102 test cities.

After the application window closes, NTA will open the NIFT application correction window on January 20. Candidates will be able to edit their submitted forms until January 21.

NIFT 2026 exam pattern for CAT, GAT

As per the NIFT GAT exam pattern, the question paper consists of four sections: Communication Ability and English Comprehension (40 marks), Quantitative Ability (20 marks), Analytical and Logical Ability (15 marks), and Current Affairs and General Knowledge (25 marks), for a total of 100 marks.

According to the NIFT CAT exam pattern, the paper tests a candidate's design sense, ideas, observation skills, creativity in using colours, and drawing ability. Students must draw their answers graphically, and these will be evaluated based on their presentation.
