NLU Delhi to conduct AILET 2021 on July 30; Check all details here

NEW DELHI: National Law University (NLU), Delhi has announced that AILET 2021 will be held on July 30, 2021 (2 pm to 3:30 pm), across the country. Also, ending speculations regarding the mode of the exam, the institute has informed the exam will be conducted as a pen-and-paper exam as notified earlier. Detailed guidelines, including COVID 19 safety protocols, will be released later, it said.

The All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) 2021 will be conducted for admission to BA LLB, LLM and PhD courses offered by NLU Delhi.

The AILET 2021 application form is currently available in online mode and can be filled till June 25, 2021, after which no application will be accepted.

The application fee for the exam is Rs.3,050. In case of SC/ST and Persons with Disabilities (PWD), the AILET application fee is Rs.1,050. SC/ST candidates under Below Poverty Line (BPL) category are exempted from paying the fee.

No changes made to AILET exam pattern

Unlike CLAT, which made key changes to LLM test structure, no changes have been made to the AILET test structure. There will be 150 objective type questions in both UG-AILET and AILET-PG. Each question carries one mark and 0.25 marks are deducted for each incorrect answer.

Questions in AILET UG will be framed from five sections - general knowledge, mathematics, legal aptitude, reasoning and English. The AILET PG, on the other hand, will be based on the subject of the LLB course such as criminal law, constitutional law, law of contract, jurisprudence, law of tort, international law etc.

Through AILET, NLU Delhi offers around 110 seats in BA LLB programme, 70 seats in LLM programme and 13 seats in PhD programme. It may be noted that NLU Delhi is not a part of CLAT Consortium. So, CLAT score will not be accepted for admission to the university’s law programmes.
