NTA issues JEE Mains 2026 session 2 exam-day guidelines; biometric, frisking rules, reporting time

Candidates can download the computer-based JEE Mains 2026 session 2 admit cards using their login details such as application number and password. They should also check the date of examination, shift timings, venue information, reporting time, and gate closing time of the centre on the exam hall tickets, NTA said in an official notification.
The JEE Mains 2026 session 2 examination will be held in two shifts. The morning shift will be held from 9 am to 12 noon, whereas the afternoon shift will be conducted from 3 to 6 pm.
JEE Mains 2026 : Registration with non-Aadhaar options
The testing agency has also advised candidates to visit the JEE Mains 2026 session 2 exam centre in advance to familiarise themselves with the location and means of reaching the venue of the test on time.
“Candidates were provided an option to register through Aadhaar. Those candidates who did not register through Aadhaar (or chose authentication through non-Aadhaar options), need to report early on the day of the examination (at least 1 hour before the gate closing time) to get their biometrics recorded at the Exam Centre,” it added.
There will be several pre-examination formalities on the JEE Mains 2026 session 2 exam day and those applicants reaching after the gate closing time, will not be allowed to enter the test venue.
“No candidate should adopt any unfair means, or indulge in any unfair examination practices as the examination centres are under surveillance of CCTV and equipped with Jammers,” NTA said.

JEE Mains 2026 April Session: Documents for exam day
As per the NTA advisory for JEE Mains 2026 session 2 exam day, candidates should download their admit cards from the website and should print it out in a colour A4 size paper.
Along with the JEE Mains 2026 session 2 exam hall ticket, applicants should also have to carry at least two passport-size photographs. “One Passport size photograph (same as uploaded with the Online Application Form) is to be pasted on the Attendance Sheet at the Centre,” NTA added.
Those carrying JEE Mains 2026 session 2 admit card and a government ID proof will only be allowed inside the examination centre.
“Candidates whose live photographs did not match with the photographs available in their Aadhaar during the filling of the application form or those who registered using any other identity proof must carry the requisite certificate in original duly signed/attested by the Principal/Head Master or any Class-I Gazetted Officer, such as Tehsildar, Revenue Officer, SDM, DM/Class-1 Gazetted Officer of the Indian Embassy (for NRI candidates), as per format shared in their registered email ID and notified vide NTA Public Notice dated 02 January 2026,” NTA said.
