NTA warns against fake requests for NEET application form details

NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency has issued a public warning against fake calls, SMS and emails requesting details about the application form of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, or NEET, on Monday.

A statement released by the exam conducting authority said: “It has come to our notice of the National Testing Agency that fake/fraudulent calls, SMS and emails are being circulated to NEET (UG)-2020 candidates asking for their NEET application form details including personal information,”

The statement further reiterated that NTA does not ask for any personal details or any other information through phone calls, SMS or emails. Candidates who will appear for the entrance test are discouraged from sharing any personal details.

Fake notice

The authority has assured that “strict action” will be taken against those behind the illegitimate collection of personal information.

This is the second time NTA has issued a warning against ‘unscrupulous elements’. In April, a fake notice was released on behalf of NTA which said that JEE Main has been further postponed to the first week of July.

NEET aspirants have been advised to check authentic information available on the official websites only.

The entrance test which grants admission to all undergraduate medical colleges in the country is scheduled to be conducted on July 26.

The exam was earlier scheduled to be conducted on May 3 which was later postponed owing to the massive spread of coronavirus pandemic.
