Pariksha pe Charcha 2022: Key highlights

  • Why do students fear appearing for the exam? - Addressing the students, PM Modi said this will not be the first time they will be appearing for exams. Because in our day-to-day life we undergo several examinations as life in an exam where knowledge is gathered through various challenges we face.
  • No difference between online and offline exams - Teasing students by asking whether they really study, or watch reels during online class, PM Modi said, “The fault is not online or offline. Online methods help to access knowledge. The offline method gives you a platform to use this knowledge. Learn online, but make sure you use this knowledge offline.”
  • Students are also in a dilemma between fulfilling their dreams or their parents’ dreams. This puts them in an endless loop of confusion. I urge parents to understand their child’s interests and help them identify their abilities.
  • On motivating oneself before the board exams 2022, the prime minister said, “We often look for ‘Motivation ka formula’, but we must first identify what demotivates us and keep them away. And, keep close the things that motivate us like a song or a book.”
  • We should not study for exams. This is the wrong approach because then we are not focused on learning but passing the exams and marks

  • National Education Policy (NEP) must have seen the involvement of so many people. It must be a world record,” he said. “People find ways to criticise what the government does. I am happy that NEP is being welcomed by everyone. This is not made by government but country's citizens, students and teacher for the future of the country,” he added.
  • People were skeptical about 'Swach Bharat Abhiyaan' when I enunciated it while delivering speech for first time on August 15. Their skepticism was proven wrong by the country's children. They spread awareness regarding cleanliness campaign: PM said
  • God has deprived a disabled person of so many abilities but the disabled have transformed those weaknesses into strengths. Students should introspect and look into as to what are the weaknesses that are hindering them from progressing: PM Modi during 'Pariksha Pe Charcha'

Pariksha Pe Charcha is being organised for the last four years by the Education Ministry's Department of School Education and Literacy. The first three editions of PPC were held in Delhi in an interactive town-hall format. The fourth edition was held online on April 7 last year.
