Prime Minister Modi encouraged aspirants who could not clear the UPSC 2020 exam and said “there are more attempts awaiting”. Highlighting vast opportunities, he further said that “India is full of diverse opportunities waiting to be explored. Best wishes in whatever you decide to do.”

A total of 761 candidates cleared the coveted civil services examination 2020. Shubham Kumar, an IIT Bombay graduate, and Jagrati Awasthi, who completed B.Tech (electrical engineering) from Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT), Bhopal, bagging the first and second ranks respectively.

Candidates who cleared the UPSC 2020 exam are shortlisted for various services such as, Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and Central Services, Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’.
A total of 10,40,060 candidates applied for the UPSC examination, out of which 4,82,770 appeared in the exam held on October 4, 2021. These 761 candidates cleared both the written and personal interview tests.
