Pondicherry University to offer 4-year ITEP courses, BA BEd, BSc BEd, through NCET score

PU BEd Admission 2023: Admission to the 4-year ITEP courses at Pondicherry University will be based on NCET score. Apply for NCET 2023 exam by July 19.
NEW DELHI: Pondicherry University has announced that it will offer a four-year integrated teacher education programme recognised by the National Council of Teacher Education from the academic year 2023-24.
Admission to BA BEd and BSc BEd will be offered by the university based on the score secured in National Common Entrance Test (NCET 2023) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
Qualifying in NCET is a mandatory for seeking admission to 4-year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) in selected central and state universities, including the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Regional Institutes of Education (RIEs), and government colleges, the NTA official website read.
The NTA has already opened the NCET registration process 2023. Aspirants who wish to take admission in the 4-year ITEP course at Pondicherry University will have to apply for the NCET exam by July 19.
The NCET exam date 2023 will be announced soon by the NTA. The hall ticket will be issued three days before the exam, the official notification read.

NCET 2023: Exam pattern
The eligibility test will be conducted in 13 languages, Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. Check the syllabus of the NCET exam below.
Language: Language to be tested through reading comprehension, literary aptitude, and vocabulary
Domain Subject: As per Class 12 syllabus only.
General Test: General knowledge, current affairs, general mental ability, numerical ability, quantitative reasoning, logical and analytical reasoning.
“Stage Specialization (5+3+3+4): Each student will specialize in one of the following school stages which will qualify them to become teachers of that stage,” the NTA said.
- Foundational Stage Specialization (for teaching Pre-School to Grade 2)
- Preparatory Stage Specialization (for teaching Grades 3 to Grade 5)
- Middle Stage Specialization (for teaching Grades 6 to Grade 8)
- Secondary Stage Specialization (for teaching Grades 9 to Grade 12)
