Sharda University organises North East Cultural Fest 2025; Meghalaya CM chief guest

NEW DELHI: Sharda University has organised the 8th North East Cultural Fest 2025 wherein students, academicians, and other dignitaries participated to celebrate India’s heritage. Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad K Sangma was the chief guest at the cultural event.
Addressing the event, chief guest Conrad K Sangma said that such cultural initiatives provide an opportunity for students from different states to learn about the traditions and lifestyles of northeast India.
Emphasising on the benefit for northeast students from the cultural fest, the chief minister said that university fosters a family-like atmosphere among students and praised its infrastructure and academic excellence.
"I was truly impressed by the state-of-the-art equipment and world-class facilities that your hospital offers. It is clear that your commitment to providing excellent care is supported by cutting-edge technology and a highly skilled team of professionals. Additionally, I had the privilege of visiting Sharda University,” he added.
North East Cultural Fest 2025: Highlights
Seven north eastern states also participated in the cultural event, highlighting their traditions through dance and music. Performances such as Laho dance from Meghalaya, the Bihu dance from Assam, and other traditional folk forms were part of the fest.
Praising the university’s commitment to academic excellence, PK Gupta, chancellor of Sharda University, said: “This celebration highlights our dedication to intercultural understanding and collaboration, strengthening our bond with diverse communities.”
The event was conducted on the university campus, where events such as artistic expression, cultural exchange, and regional dance were part of the fest.
