SPPU students have also raised concerns over the examination timetable, claiming that multiple departments are yet to complete portions of the syllabus, practical sessions and internal assessments.

Over 500 engineering students have gathered at the campus of Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) today, demanding postponement of the upcoming engineering exams 2026 at least a week. The students clarified their stance citing inadequate preparation time and delays in the academic schedule, Times Now reported.
Students have also raised concerns over the examination timetable, claiming that multiple departments are yet to complete portions of the syllabus, practical sessions and internal assessments, according to the report.
As per the students, a short postponement would allow them to prepare adequately and appear for exams without undue stress, the report said.
There have been overlapping deadlines for assignments, practical exams, and incomplete teaching schedules across several affiliated colleges, which have added to student’s academic pressure, it added.
Notably, students are expected to meet the vice-chancellor to formally present their demands and seek a revision of the examination timetable, the report reads.
“Media reports suggest that student representatives stated their primary demand as postponement of at least seven days so that students across affiliated engineering colleges receive additional preparation time. They also appealed to the university administration to consider the mental stress and workload faced by students in recent weeks,” it said.
However, the report also says that the university authorities have not yet issued an official statement on the matter.
A decision on whether the examination schedule will be revised is expected after the administration reviews the representations submitted by students, it added.
