Telangana board announces Makar Sankranti holidays in schools from January 13 to 16
TSBIE said that all government, private, aided, un-aided, welfare schools will reopen from January 17 and warned schools of action for violating the instructions.

NEW DELHI : The Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE) has announced Makar Sankranti holidays in all schools from January 13, 2024 to January 16, 2024. Schools and junior colleges will reopen for classes from January 17, 2024. The board warned that strict action will be taken against schools which don’t follow the instructions.
The order has been given for all government, private, private-aided, private un-aided, cooperative, residential, social welfare, tribal welfare, mode, incentive and other schools in the state.
“All the Principals of the Government/Private Aided/Private Un-Aided/ Co-Operative/T.S.Residential/T.S.Social Welfare Residential/T.S.Tribal Welfare Residential/T.S. Model/BC Welfare/ KGBV /Incentive Junior Colleges are hereby informed that Sankranthi holidays are declared from 13-01-2024 to 16-01-2024. After Sankranthi holidays, the colleges shall reopen on 17.01.2024,” TSBIE said in an official notice.
The board requested the principals of all schools to adhere to the instructions in view of the announcement. It directed the school heads and management not to conduct classes during the given time period.
“Further, all the Principals and the Managements of Private unaided Junior Colleges in the state are instructed not to conduct any classes during the above holidays. Violation of instructions will be viewed seriously and action will be initiated against the erring managements/Principals including disaffiliation,” TSBIE further added.
