TNAU to conduct training programme on amla products on September 7 and 8
Interested candidates will have to pay Rs 1,770 to attended the training programme at the Centre for Post Harvest Technology, TNAU, Coimbatore.

NEW DELHI: Tamil Nadu Agricultural University will conduct a two-day training programe on ‘value added products from amla’ at the Centre for Post Harvest Technology, Agricultural Engineering College and Research Institute, Coimbatore. The programme will be held from 9AM to 5PM on September 7 and 8.
The researchers of the university will train the participants in processing technologies, including amla beverages such as squash, ready to serve syrup and juice; amla concentrates such as jams, and dehydrated amla products such as honey amla, candy, supari and powder.

Interested persons will have to pay Rs 1,770, including the goods and services tax, at the university campus on the first day of training. People reaching for the training programme can enter the campus from Gate no 7, opposite to the botanical garden, at Marudhamalai road.

Recently, the TNAU’s department of crop physiology organised a one-day state-level farmers awareness programme on ‘Nutrient deficiencies and remedies for agricultural and horticultural crops’. The TNAU said around 500 farmers and KVK scientists from the Coimbatore, Tirupur, Erode, Salem and Dharmapuri districts participated in the programme, which was inaugurated by university Vice-Chancellor V Geethalakshmi.
The TNAU is ranked fifth in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2023 in the category agriculture and allied sectors.
