Two Indian women researchers on among Green Talents winners

NEW DELHI: Two female researchers from India are among the 25 winners of this year's Green Talent awards. Parmita Ghosh and Nidhi Singh from Banaras Hindu University among talented junior researchers in the field of sustainability science.

Ghosh is working as a remote sensing data scientist at Corteva Agriscience and won the award for her word in the area of satellite remote sensing and data science, agriculture, and environmental & soil science.

Nidhi Singh is a PhD student in environmental science and sustainable development at the Institute of Environment and Sustainable Development at BHU and her research focus was climate variability, human health, extreme temperature, air pollution. The jury was convinced by Nidhi’s empirical approach that links the aspects of air pollution and health, which, taken together in this way, have not been adequately researched yet.

The winners are engaged in topics ranging from climate change to energy systems. For the first time ever, the winners include researchers from India, Benin, Japan and Malawi.
