Higher education institutions asked to submit curriculum alignment details through the UGC SWAYAM mapping portal.
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has extended the last date for higher education institutions(HEIs) to submit inputs for the demand-based mapping of SWAYAM online courses for the July 2026 semester.
Universities and colleges will now be able to submit their responses through the UGC portal until March 20, 2026 through UGC mapping portal https://eseva.ugc.ac.in/swayammapping/
The UGG official announcement states that “the last date for submission of inputs on the UGC SWAYAM Mapping Portal has been extended to 20th March, 2026.”
Earlier the commission had asked institutions to review the list of courses available on the SWAYAM platform and align them with their existing curriculum requirements. Initially, institutions were asked to complete the exercise and submit their feedback by March 10.
UGC seeks inputs on SWAYAM courses
As per UGC the demand-based mapping exercise is aimed at helping the education ministry and SWAYAM national coordinators understand the academic requirements of universities. Institutions are expected to analyse their curricula and identify which online courses can be integrated with their academic programmes.

As part of the exercise, universities are required to provide the following details:
-
Extent of mapping between SWAYAM courses and the university’s existing curriculum
-
Credit requirements for integrating SWAYAM courses into academic programmes
-
Preferred language of instruction for the courses
-
Course level, such as undergraduate or postgraduate programmes
-
Subject or discipline areas where SWAYAM courses are required but currently not available on the platform
UGC earlier said that the consolidated inputs received from institutions through the mapping portal will be shared with SWAYAM national coordinators, who will then plan the course offerings for the July 2026 academic session accordingly.
