UGC to use e-Samadhaan for grievance redressal; Complaint handling mechanism discontinued

UGC has closed the CHM redressal system and now will use e-Samadhaan portal to receive and resolve complaints from students and stakeholders.
NEW DELHI: The University Grants Commission has asked all higher education institutions (HEI) that online or ODL courses to inform its students and concerned stakeholders about the shift to e-Samadhaan portal from complaint handling mechanism (CHM) for submitting complaints.
UGC has discontinued CHM with immediate effect, however, all the pending complaints will be resolved. CHM was an interactive web portal that allowed learners to submit and track complaints online. The submitted complaints were resolves at the HEI level, UGC regional office level and UGC level in a time bound manner.

The e-Samadhaan portal is a centralised, single-window mechanism that avoids duplication and redundancy f the complaints.
"In view of the above, it is informed that provision of complaint handling mechanism (CHM) on UGC DEB web portal has been closed and accordingly, all stakeholders are requested to visit the e-Samadhaan online portal at samadhaan.ugc.ac.in for submitting their complaints/grievances," read the UGC notice.
