UPSC shortlists 85 for assistant programmer posts in CBI; 8 candidates rejected

UPSC: Eight candidates have been rejected due to the non-submission of the required documents for the specific posts.
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has shortlisted 85 candidates for the 27 posts of assistant programmer in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). A total of 8 candidates have been rejected due to the non-submission of the required documents for the specific posts.
According to the UPSC’s official notice, one candidate has been rejected under the general criteria for failing to submit a community certificate. Four candidates were disqualified due to non-submission of required documents, while three others were rejected for not providing the mandatory certificate specific to the post.
The CBI posts are offered under the department of personnel and training (DoPT), ministry of personnel, public grievances and pensions.
A few modalities were adopted, such as the OBC candidates have been considered eligible, subject to the undertaking, which will be collected at the time of the interview. However, a birth certificate has not been considered as valid proof of date of birth, and the EWS certificate is valid for the year 2024-25.
Also, a degree in Information Technology, Information Security, and Theoretical Computer Science has been considered relevant for the subject post in consonance with the AICTE gazette notification.

UPSC: Eligibility criteria for CBI posts
The eligibility criteria for the CBI posts are as follows.
A master's degree in Computer Application or Computer Science or Master of Technology (with specialization in Computer Application) or a bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology in Computer Engineering or Computer Science or Computer Technology from a recognised university or institute.
Or
A bachelor’s degree in Computer Application or Computer Science or Electronics or Electronics and Communication Engineering from a recognised university; and two years of experience in electronic data processing work, including knowledge of actual programming from a recognised institute or from offices of central or state government or UTs or autonomous or statutory organization or public sector undertakings or universities, or recognized research institute.
Or
A level diploma under the department of Electronic Accredited Computer courses programme or post-graduate diploma in computer application offered under university programme and three years of experience in electronic data processing work, including understanding of actual programming from a recognized institute or from offices of central or state government or UTs or autonomous or statutory organization or public sector undertakings, universities, or recognized research institute.
