Yogi Adityanath launches School Chalo Abhiyan for 100 percent school enrolment

NEW DELHI: ‘School Chalo Abhiyan’ campaign of the Uttar Pradesh government has been launched by chief minister Yogi Adityanath today, April 4. The School Chalo campaign intends to achieve 100 percent enrolment in primary and upper primary schools.

The campaign aims to strengthen primary education in UP and develop primary schools, says an official release from the UP government. Adityanath has instructed the state officials to prioritise districts with low literacy rates and to equip primary schools in UP with better facilities.
The School Chalo Abhiyan in UP will be telecasted live. The event is scheduled to begin in the Shravasti district, which has the lowest literacy rate in Uttar Pradesh. Under the initiative, government schools are supposed to attain 100 percent saturation of toilets, drinking water, furniture and smart classes.

As per various media reports, the UP education department has suggested School Chalo Abhiyan slogans such as "Koi naa chhoote abki baar, shiksha hai sabka adhikaar", "Hindu-Muslim, Sikh-Isai, milkar ke sab karein padhai", "Ek bhi bachcha chhoota, sankalp hamara toota", and "Padhi likhi naari, ghar-ghar ki ujiyari" to inspire people to send their wards to schools. Adityanath has also asked MLAs to adopt a school for the development of schools.
