1,600 meritorious Uttar Pradesh students to receive Rs 4.73 crore cash prize: Report

148 meritorious students from different boards in UP to get a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh each while 1,549 students in district-level merit lists to get Rs 21,000.
NEW DELHI: High school and intermediate students that have secured a place in state, district level merit lists in various board examinations will be receiving cash prizes by the Uttar Pradesh government, reported Times of India .
The toppers can belong to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), UP board, or Sanskrit education Board. According to the director of secondary education, Mahendra Dev a district-wise budget of over Rs 4.73 crore for this purpose was released in a government order dated December 14.

Letters sent to additional education director, secretary and to the UP board among others says that the a total of 148 meritorious students from different boards will be given a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh each. In addition to this, another 1,549 students of UP Board will get a prize of Rs 21,000 each, who have secured a place in district-level merit lists.
UP Board will be conducting the UP class 10, 12 board exams 2023 in March. The timetable for the UPMSP Class 10, 12 is expected to be out in January 2023 on the official website- upmsp.edu.in. Previously, the Bihar board toppers in 2021 received laptops, cash prizes, and Kindle e-book readers to the candidates who secure top scores in the Matriculation examination.
