Telangana partners Pearson to scale AI skilling, assessments and credentials via Aikam

The partnership will focus on AI learning, assessments and globally recognised credentials, with Pearson joining as Aikam’s first partner.
The Government of Telangana has announced a collaboration with Pearson to strengthen AI skilling, assessment and credentialing initiatives through Aikam, the state’s newly formed autonomous AI innovation entity.
The partnership makes Pearson the first partner of Aikam and is aimed at supporting the Global AI Academy being developed under the Aikam platform, as per the official Pearson press release. The collaboration was formalised through an agreement signed on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum(WEF) annual meeting in Davos.
As per the release, the agreement reflects a shared intent to build a future-ready AI talent pipeline aligned with global standards and industry needs.
AI skilling push through Aikam–Pearson partnership
Pearson and Aikam will explore opportunities to work together on AI-focused education and skilling initiatives, leveraging Pearson’s expertise in learning content, assessments and globally recognised credentials.
“Building AI capability at scale requires not just access to technology, but strong learning frameworks, trusted assessment, and globally portable credentials,” said Sanjay Kumar, special chief secretary, information technology, electronics and communications and industries & commerce department, government of Telangana.
Vishaal Gupta, president of Pearson Enterprise Learning & Skills, said the collaboration aims to support learners and workers as AI reshapes careers and workplaces.

“Through this collaboration with the Government of Telangana and Aikam, Pearson aims to contribute our global expertise in learning and credentialing,” he said.
Phani Nagarjuna, Founding CEO of Aikam, said the partnership is intended to create AI learning pathways that are “internationally portable, industry-relevant and aligned with the future of work.”
The press release described Aikam as an open innovation entity designed to position Telangana among the world’s top innovation hubs by combining population-scale datasets, mass upskilling, AI-first startup acceleration and high-performance computing infrastructure.
