AICTE invites proposals for setting up new technical colleges, ODL programme approvals
Education partners seeking to establish new technical Institutions under AICTE are required to submit their applications at nsws.gov.in.

NEW DELHI: The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has issued a notice inviting applications from education partners and stakeholders for various proposals including setting up new technical institutions, extending approval for existing ones, and seeking approvals for Open and Distance Learning (ODL) or online mode programmes.
AICTE has invited applications for establishing new technical institutions at various levels, including diploma, post diploma, undergraduate, post graduate, post graduate diploma in management, post graduate certificate in management, and FPM.
The areas of focus for new institutions include engineering and technology, applied arts and crafts, design, hotel management, catering technology, computer applications, and management, as well as programmes like BBA, BCA and BMS.
Extension of approval for existing institutions
In addition to new institutions, AICTE is inviting applications for the extension of approval for existing technical institutions, institutions deemed to be universities, and universities—whether central, state, or private.
Approval for ODL, online programmes
Standalone institutions and institutions deemed to be universities offering or intending to offer ODL or online programmes are required to submit applications as per AICTE’s Approval Process Handbook (APH). The ODL programmes may cover a variety of fields such as management, computer applications, artificial intelligence, machine learning, cybersecurity, and blockchain technology.

Education partners seeking to establish new technical Institutions are required to submit their applications through the National Single Window System (NSWS) available at the official website, nsws.gov.in.
Education partners must carefully read the AICTE Approval Process Handbook (APH) for the academic session 2024-25 to 2026-27 and comply with all provisions.
AICTE unveils 13 Hindi books on technical subject
Recently, the AICTE member secretary Rajive Kumar released 13 Hindi books on technical and management subjects on the occasion of World Hindi Day. The 13 Hindi books unveiled by AICTE in technical and management subjects cover diverse topics, including science and technology, environmental studies, painting, art, and policies inspired by Indian values, in alignment with the NEP 2020.
Annual update requirement for Institutes of Eminence
Institutions recognized as Institutes of Eminence by the Ministry of Education (MoE) are also required to update their details annually on the AICTE Web Portal to ensure compliance with AICTE norms and standards.
The AICTE notice read, "Institutions Deemed to be Universities recognized as Institutes of Eminence by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, must annually update their details on the AICTE Web Portal and comply with AICTE norms and standards."
