AICTE launches 41 certificate programmes in AI, ML, data science for engineering faculty members

The ‘AICTE-QIP-PG Certificate Programme in Emerging Areas’ contains 18 credits and will be conducted through the institution of national importance such as the IISc, IITs, NITs, and IIITs.
The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has launched 41 certificate programmes in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), data science, data analytics, and other emerging areas. The 6-month hybrid programmes are designed to equip teachers from different disciplines with knowledge and skills in technologies, enabling them to deliver high-quality and industry-relevant education to students.
The ‘ AICTE -QIP-PG Certificate Programme in Emerging Areas’ contains 18 credits and will be conducted through the institution of national importance such as the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Indian Institute of Technology ( IITs ), National Institute of Technology (NITs), and Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIITs).
Apart from AI, ML , the certificate programmes also include other areas such as Cyber Physical Systems, IoT and Drone Technology, Intelligent Transport Systems, Robotics, and 3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing.
AICTE Certificate Programme: Eligibility, application deadline
The certificate programmes are launched for the academic development of faculty members belonging to core engineering disciplines.
As per the eligibility criteria, the courses are open to full-time regular and permanent faculty members of AICTE-approved degree and diploma institutions.
Eligible candidates can apply for 41 certificate programmes for the 2026-27 July to December session by July 5.
Yogesh Singh, AICTE chairman, said: “The ‘AICTE-QIP-PG Certificate Programme in Emerging Areas’ reflects AICTE’s commitment to strengthening technical education by continuously upgrading the capabilities of faculty members. Technologies such as AI, Machine Learning and Quantum Computing are transforming industries, and many more emerging technologies will shape the future.”
Shyama Rath, member secretary, AICTE, said: “The QIP PG Certificate Programme will provide faculty members with an excellent opportunity to acquire new skills and learn from distinguished academicians and peers across institutions. Such collaborative learning and exposure to emerging technologies will ultimately benefit students and contribute to national development. I urge all AICTE-approved institutions to encourage their faculty members to actively participate in this programme.”
