AKTU students intensify campaign for online exam, seek UP CM’s intervention
Many students of AKTU have virtually intensified their campaign after the chief minister’s recent tweet on fear of a third wave of Covid-19 and Omicron.

NEW DELHI: Students of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow have sought intervention of Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath to cancel the offline exams due to Omicron fears. Several students have taken to social media after the University announced to conduct offline exams for the regular and carry over-exams of odd semester for the undergraduate and postgraduate students on December 28.
Many students have virtually intensified their campaign after the chief minister’s recent tweet on fear of a third wave of Covid-19. “Fears of a third wave of corona are being expressed. The central and state governments are fully prepared to deal with this. We have provided the best health facilities to the common man. We are taking forward the big campaign of providing free tests, free vaccines and free food grains,” the chief minister wrote on Twitter.

Following his tweet on Sunday, students requested the chief minister to direct the university to conduct the exam in online mode.

The AKTU students’ union on Twitter asked students to intensify the drive for online exams. “Please tweet more and more for your own safety from COVID-19 third wave. If u want that AKTU, Lucknow should conduct online exam then tweet + retweet + tag + use hashTag on daily basis. Show your unity guys.”

A student said, “Sir many universities are conducting exams in online mode then why AKTU is not conducting exams in online mode. Sir please give an order to AKTU university to conduct exam in online mode for the sake of the safety of the students.”

Another student expressed concern over the 4 lakh students studying at AKTU and asked why the exam is being conducted in offline mode.

“Are the students of Uttar Pradesh anti-coronavirus? Even in the situation prevailing in the country, if AKTU_Lucknow is conducting offline examinations, then it is playing with the lives of students and their families,” a Twitter user said.

Another student said, “How can we complete whole syllabus in half time even though classes were conducted in online mode and they have opened college in last month and suddenly they brings offline schedule and colleges irritating students for fee and other things how can we prepare in just 15 days.”
