Arunachal Pradesh Budget 2024: 30 new government schools, 100% IIT fee waiver
Arunachal Pradesh deputy CM announced Rs 2,139 crore allocation under Arun SHRI Mission under financial budget 2024-25.

NEW DELHI: Allocation of Rs 2,139 crore under Arun SHRI mission, 30 new government schools, and a 100% fee waiver for students enrolled in undergraduate courses at an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) are the highlights of Arunachal Pradesh budget 2024. Deputy Chief Minister and minister of finance Chowna Mein presented the financial budget 2024-25 in the eighth Arunachal Pradesh assembly’s budget session.
In the budget, the state government has announced the construction of residential quarters for teaching staff, significant investments in infrastructure development for two engineering colleges, two model degree colleges, and the Bini Yanga Government Women College. Additionally, the government will help develop a university auditorium and offer grant-in-aid for Arunachal Pradesh University, Pasighat.
Besides the IIT fee waiver, deputy CM also announced a 75% waiver on training fees for those pursuing commercial pilot licenses. The Arunachal Pradesh budget also introduced scholarship programmes aimed at promoting higher education such as the Dulari Kaniya Scheme, offering Rs 50,000 to girls pursuing graduation or professional courses.
In line with the National Education Policy 2020, the state budget emphasizes teacher training and comprehensive school programmes. Initiatives such as the 100 days reading campaign, school readiness program, and Saturday co-curricular activities under bagless saturday have been included in this financial year’s budget.

Moreover, the government has also focused on technological integration with plans to establish real-time digital inventories for public infrastructure in schools and hospitals and promote STEM education across educational institutions of the state.
