Banaras Hindu University appoints new directors for three institutes

BHU appointed new directors for institutes of science, management studies, environment and sustainable development.
NEW DELHI: Banaras Hindu University has appointed new directors for three of its institutes. The Institute of Science, Institute of Management Studies, and Institute of Environment and Sustainable Development at BHU have got new directors.
BHU vice-chancellor professor Sudhir Kumar Jain has appointed Professor Sanjay Kumar, Department of Physics, as the director of Institute of Science. Professor A S Raghubanshi has been appointed the director of Institute of Environment and Sustainable Development, while professor Ashish Bajapi has been appointed the director of Institute of Management Studies.
The appointments of the three directors have been made for a duration of five years or till the date of superannuation, whichever is earlier, the institute informed.
Professor Sanjay Kumar is currently the head of the Department of Physics as well as the Coordinator of IOE-BHU. Professor Raghubanshi will be assuming the charge of director IESD for the third time. Moreover, professor Ashish Bajpai is a senior faculty member at the Institute of Management.
Earlier, the tenure of professor Anil Kumar Tripathi as the director of science got completed on January 31, 2024 while the tenures of professor A S Raghubanshi as director IESD, and professor S K Dubey as director, Institute of Management Studies, got over in November last year. The professors were officiating till the appointment of the new directors.
