BML Munjal University hosts Propel Pitchfest25; sees over Rs 8 crore investment pool

NEW DELHI : The BML Munjal University’s (BMU) Atal Community Innovation Centre(ACIC)-BMU Foundation has hosted Propel Pitchfest25 in partnership with Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) and NITI Aayog on campus.

The Propel Pitchfest25 is the flagship annual event of BMU where entrepreneurs, investors, and industry leaders participate and gather to enhance India’s start-up ecosystem, the university said.

The event that concluded on Thursday, saw an investment of over Rs 8 crore and support from Start-up India Seed Fund Scheme (SISFS), and MeitY GENESIS scheme. The annual function provided “crucial financial backing to emerging ventures,” the university added.

Davinder Singh, CEO, ACIC-BMU Foundation, said: "Propel Pitchfest25 is more than just an event; it is a Launchpad for innovation and a catalyst for entrepreneurial success. Over the past, we’ve been at the forefront of supporting innovators across different sectors or industries. Through our programs and support, we’ve proudly nurtured more than 70 startups, catalyzed the creation of 500+ jobs, and facilitated investments. Our mission at ACIC-BMU is to nurture ground-breaking solutions that drive meaningful change, and this event is a testament to that commitment.”

The event also witnessed participation from various startups from several sectors such as deeptech, medtech, textile innovation, sustainability and social impact.

Investors such as Indian Angel Network, India Accelerator, Pontaq VC, Sanchi Connect, Foxhog ventures, JITO, Campus Fund, Campus Angels, Agility Ventures, Fluid ventures, RTAF, She Capital, Lead Angels, Inflection Point ventures, lndian Healthcare Angels, and Venture Catalysts also participated in the startup event.

Singapore India Startup Corridor Programme

The event also saw the launch of the Singapore India Startup Corridor Programme which aimed at boosting innovation between the two countries. The objective of the intiative was also to provide market access, networking opportunities to Indian startups.

The ACIC-BMU Foundation also celebrated the achievements, progress, and contribution to innovation of startups that are supported under the startup India seed fund scheme.

Activities such as masterclasses, boot camps, and investor clinics were also organised at the annual event. Industry experts guided bidding entreprenuers on business models, investments, and scaling innovations.
