CBSE 10th, 12th board exams 2022: Admit Card on November 9; Board issues new guidelines

CBSE Term-1 board exams 2022 for Classes 10 and 12 will begin on November 17 and 16 respectively. Roll numbers will be uploaded on November 9.

Enrol NowNEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE Term-1 Board Exams 2022 for Classes 10, 12 will commence from November 17 and 16, respectively. The board will upload the admit cards, other details such as the examination center, customised OMR sheets, permitted items in the exam, guidelines to prevent COVID-19 etc. for Class 10, 12 students on November 9 on the official website - cbse.gov.in. The board has released the time table for term-1 exams for both the classes.

After the Punjab government opposed CBSE’s decision of putting “Punjabi” subject as minor, the board changed the classification of subjects from major and minor to ‘Subjects offered by all schools’ and ‘subjects offered by fewer schools’.
“CBSE is offering 114 subjects for Class 12 students and 75 subjects for Class 10..If the examination of all subjects is conducted, the entire duration of exams would be about 40-45 days. Therefore, to avoid learning loss of students, CBSE would conduct exams of only ‘subjects offered by all schools’," the board said in an official statement.
Changes in CBSE board exams pattern:
- The duration of the board exam will be 90 Minutes (1 hour 30 mins)
- The board exam will begin from 11:30 instead of 10:30 am keeping in view the winter session
- The reading time has been increased from 15 minutes to 20 minutes
- Practicals or internals will constitute 50% of total marks
- Schools will have to upload practical marks at the official portal by December 23.
- No external examiner will be appointed in term-1 exams by CBSE for practicals
- Schools will use their own answer book for practical

Appointment of Observers
- For every 500 students there will be one observer
- For more than 500 students, CBSE will send 2 observers
- CBSE will also appoint city coordinators at all exam centres
OMR Sheet
- CBSE will provide customized OMR sheets online to examination centres
- A copy of the OMR sheet will be provided to schools for practice
- Separate sheet will be given for rough work
