CBSE, AIIMS Delhi launch Project MATE to address students' mental health issues; 50 counsellors register

Project MATE is an adolescent wellness programme, aimed at enhancing ‘resilience’, providing coping mechanisms to students, and promoting meaningful peer connectivity through the concept of ‘MATE-5,' according to the official press release.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) New Delhi, have jointly developed an offline training programme under Project MATE (Mind Activate Through Education) today at AIIMS.
Project MATE is an adolescent wellness programme, aimed at enhancing ‘resilience’, providing coping mechanisms to students, and promoting meaningful peer connectivity through the concept of ‘MATE-5.’
The programme is designed for teachers, school counsellors, and will take place from August 26 to 30. It will be conducted by leading experts in psychiatry, psychology, and communication.
Notably, around 50 school counsellors from Delhi-NCR are registered for the programme.
The launch was also addressed by M Srinivas, director, AIIMS; Rahul Singh, IAS, chairperson, CBSE; Himanshu Gupta, IAS, secretary, CBSE; KK Verma, dean academics, AIIMS; and Nand Kumar, department of psychiatry, AIIMS.
