CBSE Board 2021 to ask questions from revised syllabus, says Pokhriyal

NEW DELHI : The Union education minister Ramesh Pokhriyal, during a live interaction with Kendriya Vidyalaya students, said that the CBSE board 2021 exam question will only be asked from the reduced syllabus.

The CBSE had reduced syllabus by 30 percent considering the COVID-19 induced lockdown. The minister was answering questions posed by students from Kendriya Vidyalayas during the live interaction at the Kendriya Vidyalaya Andrews Ganj, New Delhi.

The minister said that questions for CBSE boards and other CBSE based competitive exams, such as the JEE Main and NEET, will only be asked from the revised syllabus released by the CBSE.

Ramesh Pokhriyal, answering a students’ query, said: “The students will only have to study the revised syllabus for their CBSE board exams and other exams based upon CBSE board syllabus 2021. The questions will only be asked from that portion."

The minister also said that the exams will be “conducted successfully” similar to the way JEE Main and NEET were conducted.

Physical classes soon: Education Minister

Ramesh Pokhriyal also said that the ministry is “trying to resume physical classes as soon as possible”. The minister also said that even after schools reopen, blended modes of education will be followed.

Ramesh Pokhriyal, answering a student’s query, said: “The classes will remain open but online classes will continue simultaneously. The online education and physical classes both will be kept at 50-50 ratio.”

The education minister said: “You have seen how successfully the NEET and JEE Main exams were conducted. We conducted the previous boards as well which could not be done during COVID-19. So, there is no need to worry. There is enough time and maybe the situation will also be much better by then.”

The minister also said that efforts will be taken to ensure that Kendriya Vidyalayas come up across the country.
