The Board will take a call soon whether the exams are to be conducted based on 70% or 50% of the syllabus," a senior CBSE official said to TOI .
Board exam may be shifted to April-May
As the COVID-19 disturbed the academic year 2020-21 and around half academic year has passed without normal classes, so the board may delay in exams this year. However, with the schools remaining closed and classes held in online mode.
The standards for online classes vary from school to school, so the board is expecting some physical classes before the conduction of exams. “We are waiting for some direction — whether the academic year will be extended so that the syllabus can be completed Then the exams will have to be shifted, probably to May or even later,” said Gerry Arathoon, chief executive, CISCE said to TOI .
Both the Boards are waiting for directives from the ministry of education before taking a call.
