CBSE, NCB to sign agreement on drug abuse awareness in schools on September 3

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will collaborate with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) to start awareness initiatives against drug abuse in schools. The agreement will be signed on September 3 at the CBSE Headquarters, New Delhi.

According to the board’s notification, CBSE and NCB will work together on awareness programmes, workshops, and counselling sessions aimed at principals, counsellors, teachers, and students. The collaboration seeks to equip schools with strategies for preventing substance abuse and building safe learning environments.

“The MoU Signing Ceremony will be held on 3rd September 2025 at the CBSE Headquarters, Dwarka, New Delhi. This initiative marks a significant step towards building drug-free school environments. Through this collaboration, CBSE and NCB will jointly undertake awareness programs, workshops, and counselling initiatives to empower educators, counsellors, and students to make responsible and healthy life choices,” the official notice said.

An awareness session for principals and counsellors of affiliated schools will follow the signing. The programme will focus on prevention strategies, capacity-building of educators, and strengthening school communities against substance misuse.

Registration details shared for principals and counsellors

CBSE has shared a registration link for participation. Seats are limited and will be allotted on a first-come, first-served basis. Confirmation will be sent by email to selected candidates. There is no registration fee, while travel and accommodation expenses must be borne by participants.

“Principals and counsellors of CBSE schools are encouraged to register and actively participate in this important initiative. For any queries, please write to: cbse.counseling@gmail.com,” CBSE said.

Meanwhile, CBSE has issued a separate advisory cautioning parents, students, and stakeholders against misleading claims circulated by unauthorised sources regarding the quick issuance of duplicate mark sheets , certificates, and document corrections. The board has clarified that only official notifications should be relied upon for such processes.
