NEW DELHI: The Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education, Raipur has announced provision of punishment for evaluators for their negligence in evaluating Class 10, 12 board exam answer sheets from the year 2014 to 2022, excluding 2015 and 2021. The board has divided the punishment into three categories.
The Chhattisgarh Board finalised the punishments last year as per the decision made during a joint meeting of the examination and result committee held from August 10 to 16, 2023.
“In the high school/higher secondary examination conducted by Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education, Raipur from the year 2014 to 2022 (except the year 2015 and 2021), the evaluators (teachers) who have been seriously negligent towards the work assigned during the evaluation, will be punished on the basis of the fault. The committee had made provision for imposing punishment in three categories. The three-categories of punishments are given below.
Category-1 - For an increase of 20 to 40 marks, the evaluator will be deprived of remuneration work from the state board for three years.
Category-2 - In cases where marks are increased from 41 to 49 points, the evaluator will be debarred from regular remunerative work of the board for five years.
Category-3 - If marks are found to be increased by more than 50 points, the evaluator will be deprived of all remunerative work of the board for five years and the government or the concerned departments have been asked to stop increment for one year.
“This order will be applicable from the main examination year 2022-23,” the board. Chhattisgarh Board secretary VK Goyal last year said: "101 teachers have been banned in view of the negligence in checking the answer sheets of 10th and 12th board exams."
