One parent named Dr. Pramodini Jena, who goes by the Twitter handle @DrPramodini, alleged that the CLAT Heldsek is not responding to her child's calls. Also, she claims there is a discrepancy in the scorecard.
Students, whatever may be their rank, are currently on the lookout for a college they can get admission into, one that is decent enough and doesn't put a big hole in the pocket.
Vacancies, if any, will be posted by the NLUs on their respective websites after conclusion of the fifth and final round of counselling. So, candidates must keep visiting the NLU website for updates on any such vacancies after the regular counseling process ends.
Also, note that admission against any such vacancies by the NLUs has to be done strictly as per CLAT 2021 merit rank.
Candidates who have been allotted seats in the first four rounds may withdraw their seats, if they want to, on or before August 18, 2021. However, a penalty of Rs. 10,000 will be levied for such withdrawals (which will be adjusted against the seat block fee of Rs. 50,000 paid at the time of registration).
No, the upgrade option will be available for the first four rounds only. So, candidates who have been allotted seats in the fifth round has the following two options to choose from:
Verification of documents: The NLU will verify the documents uploaded by the candidate. After completion of the verification process, it will update the details online ‘Accepted’ or ‘Not Accepted’ with reasons.
Post-seat allotment options: Upon seat allotment, the candidate has 3 options before him:
Allotment of seats
Registration for counselling: To register, you will have to enter NLU preferences, pay Rs. 50,000 to book a slot.
In the case of UG programmes, you can select a max of 22 NLUs and a minimum of 5 NLUs. For the PG programme, you can select a max of 19 NLUs and have to select at least 5 NLUs.
Publication of Counselling Invite Lists on July 29: If your name is in the list, you can get registered
The NLU Consortium had constituted Grievance Redressal Committee on July 27. The result was declared yesterday, so candidates may still get a chance to put their objections against the CLAT result. In this process, a redressal form can be released soon for the candidates.
The consortium will publish Counselling Invite Lists for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. If your name is included in your applied programme, you can participate in the counselling process.
Note, the number of candidates invited for counselling will be FIVE times the number of seats available in each category.
While NIRF ranking is a good tool for identifying top NLUs, but the students' behaviour in last year also tells about the popularity of NLUs. So, as per the previous year general/open category cut-offs, the top NLUs are as follows.
The consortium hasn't yet published the consolidated merit lists. It was slated to be published on July 28.
The lists will contain the names of all candidates who have appeared in the pen-and-paper exam, their admit card numbers, application numbers, and CLAT 2021 merit rank.
This is how the login window for downloading the CLAT 2021 scorecard looks like.
The invite list will be published today for both UG and PG programmes. Candidates who are included in the lists only will be eligible to participate in the online counselling process.
While giving preference to NLUs, candidates should always try to include the top colleges in their list. So, what are the top NLUs in the country? Check the ranking as per the NIRF 2020 ranking.

LegalEdge cut-off verdict: The cut-offs can be a bit higher than the previous year considering the paper was easier compared to last year.
One Twitter user, who went by a pseudonym, Genral Melchetti (username- @gen_melchett) did a bit of banter by tweeting "sooooo, ready for crying today??
A Twitter user named Maurya Deepanshu, with the handle @maurya78, tweeted that the results of the CLAT 2021 exam will be declared today at 2 pm. However, he doesn't say anything regarding the source of his claim, as the consortium hasn't announced anything on the website yet.
So, at the moment it appears like mere speculation.
The consortium will release the CLAT 2021 cut-off for each participating NLU. Also, the cutoffs will be released separately for the one-year LLM and the 5-year integrated LLB programmes. The cutoff depends on the following parameters:
NIRF 2020 Rank - 01:
The institute offers 93 seats in the 5-year integrated LLB programmes. Out of this, 70 seats are for All India candidates, while the rest are for Karantaka domicile candidates.
Being the top-ranked NLU in the country, NLSIU Bangalore is in high demand, receives amongst the highest number of applications, which pushes up the cutoff. So, if you are seeking admission under the All India category, you may have a change only if you are ranked below the 80-90 rank range.
There is a certain threshold for admission to an NLU in your respective category. You will get admission only if you meet this threshold, also known as the CLAT cutoff 2021. The cutoff would be determined programme-wise separately for each NLU.

The institute has notified that it will conduct a separate entrance exam and will not accept CLAT scores for admission to its one-year LLM course. So, the institute now is following in the footsteps of CNLU Patna, which already conducts its own PG entrance exam.
In CLAT UG one question has been dropped. Now, the total marks will be 149 instead of 150, and this will be the same for all candidates who appeared in the exam.
But, four answers have been revised in the final CLAT answer key. This means the result of many candidates will be affected by the addition of up to four marks or deductions in total marks due to negative marking.
Overall, a difference of four marks will be good enough to affect the CLAT results of the candidates. It will help the candidates in improving their chances of getting the preferred NLU more easily.
For candidates who will now have to face negative marking due to revision of answer key, the result will be affected negatively. The maximum negative marking for four questions will be one mark.
The consortium will declare the results of CLAT 2021 for both the undergraduate and postgraduate exams today.
19 on the member NLUs of the consortium offer a one-year LLM programme.
There are 22 NLUs in CLAT Consortium. These include some of the top-ranked NLUs which the candidates should go for after getting CLAT result 2021. Due to increased competition, these NLUs may see a higher cut off than the previous year's CLAT cut off. Here is the list of the top 5 NLUs that may see a high cut off this year.
1. NLSIU Bangalore
2. NALSAR Hyderabad

NALSAR Hyderabad is the second most preferred NLU for CLAT aspirants. The university offers 120 seats. but, out of this 96 seats are available for all India categories (General + SC + ST). For all India general category, 75 seats are available, so if the first 70 candidates opt for NLSIU, the candidates within a rank from 70 - 150 may easily get NALSAR Hyderabad.
Roughly, if some candidates opt for other colleges, we can expect NALSAR Hyderabad cut off to be around 160-170 for the open category. Last year, the open/general cut off for NALSAR was 177.
There are some speculations doing the rounds that the CLAT 2021 result has been declared. But in reality, the consortium hasn’t yet declared the CLAT results.

CLAT exam is conducted nationally every year for admission to 5-year integrated LLB and one-year LLM programmes offered by the twenty-two (22) participating NLUs.
The 5-year integrated LLB programme is offered by all the 22 NLUs, but only 19 NLUs offer the one-year LLM programme. The combined seat intake for the two programmes is given in the table below.
Program | Approximate Seat Intake |
5-year integrated LLB | 2622 |
One-year LLM | 808 |
The revised admission notification introduced the Karantaka Students category and 25% domicile reservation. This means the category-wise allocation of seats was revised again.
Earlier there were 93 seats in the all India general category. But after the revision, only 70 seats are available in the open category. This will result in a higher cut off for the open category this year.
All India category candidates with a CLAT UG rank of 80 and more may find it difficult to secure a seat in NLSIU Bangalore.
For students under the Karnataka domicile category, the reservation will certainly help them in securing a seat at the university.
