NEW DELHI: Amid growing speculation about the postponement of CLAT 2021, the Consortium of National Law Universities (CNLU) has said that it will announce the exam date in the first week of May 2021. Before this, the Common Law Admission Test or, CLAT was scheduled to be conducted on June 13, 2021.
CLAT 2021 is the first major law entrance exam that has been affected due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The consortium has said that it is monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic situation and the exam date will be decided only after taking stock of the situation. The notification regarding CLAT 2021 exam date will be issued on the official website of consortium - consortiumofnlus.ac.in.
It may be noted that amid rising cases of COVID-19 many states have closed their schools and postponed the board exams. The CBSE board exam dates are likely to be announced after a review of the COVID-19 situation in the first week of June 2021. This means many other law entrance exams such as the All India Law Entrance Test of National Law University Delhi, Symbiosis Law Aptitude Test (SLAT) which are scheduled to be held in June 2021, may also be postponed.
Meanwhile, the consortium has advised the applicants not to panic at this stage as it promises to take appropriate steps as time and situation demand and will keep the applicants updated accordingly.
The application form of CLAT 2021 is currently open and the last date to submit the application is April 31.
