Earlier in the day, he had written to students and staff informing them that “all class work and examinations at IIT Delhi are suspended with immediate effect”. He further told them to “refrain from organising any event on the campus during this period that requires gathering of people”. His letter further directed staff and students to “seek special permission through an appropriate authority of the institute” before travelling abroad for official reasons.
