NEW DELHI: The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) started a week-long campaign for crowd sourcing ideas for improving India’s online education system on April 10.
Launching the programme in Delhi, the HRD minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ said that this campaign aims to invite suggestions from “all the best brains” in India.
An official statement from the ministry said the suggestions, or solutions can be shared directly with the MHRD. The aim is to overcome constraints of online education while promoting the available digital education platforms, the statement said.
The ideas can be shared on bharatpadheonline.mhrd@gmail.comand on Twitter by using #BharatPadheOnline up to April 16.
“While using Twitter one must tag @HRDMinistry and @DrRPNishank so that ideas can be notified to us,” Pokhriyal said. He added that he would like to “go through the suggestions personally”.
#IndiaFightsCorona pic.twitter.com/BkSQMjb82e

Pokhriyal said that the students who are engaging with the existing digital platforms can share what is lacking in the existing online platforms and how to make them more engaging.
The HRD minister also asked educators across the country to come forward and contribute their expertise and experience in the field of education. A conversation can be initiated with them on what they think an ideal online education ecosystem should look like, he said.
The MHRD has asked all educational institutions to focus on online learning since the country went into a lockdown for 21 days from March 25.
