NEW DELHI: Amidst the lockdown, Jamia Millia Islamia University is gearing up to organise placement and internship drives in online mode.
The University Placement Cell, or UPC, has developed a dedicated web portal for the online placement drive. An automation platform for training and placement process has also been adopted for the purpose.
Several big companies such as Amazon, Byjus, NIIT Ltd., Samsung Display, Dark Phoenix Studios (MO ON TV), E-vision TechnoServe, Havells, Peacock Solar are expected to participate in the online placement drive.
A statement released by the university said: “During the lockdown, the biggest challenge is to provide job placements and internships to students. The UPC is coordinating with many companies for this purpose.”

The logistics of the placement drive have been coordinated through video meetings with Teacher Placement Coordinators and Student Placement Committees of various departments.
