NEW DELHI: The Ministry of Human Resource Development has come up with an online English-learning programme for students and teachers to enhance their English-speaking skills whilst they are confined to their homes during the coronavirus lockdown.
The ministry has collaborated with National Educational Alliance for Technology (NEAT) to offer free e-content to its learners. Announced in September 2019, NEAT is a private-public-partnership scheme to coordinate between all the e-learning and education-technology efforts of institutions across the country.
The NEAT- English Bolo programme provides an opportunity to learn and improve English speaking skills with the help of audios, videos and Pictionary games. NEAT has waived subscription charges for the first 25 days for all registered students.

The minister for HRD, Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ tweeted:
“Always wanted to learn spoken English?

!”
The programme can ostensibly teach English in 100 days.
It includes 100 self- learning lessons and 10 live, online classes. The lessons are 15-minutes long. Along with reading and writing lessons, the audio lessons are meant to help improve pronunciation. The online learning platform can be accessed on smartphones, computers or tablets.
