CUET UG 2026: NTA opens photo verification facility for mismatch cases

The National Testing Agency (NTA) on April 11 released an important update for Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG 2026) candidates regarding the photo verification process. The latest notice mentions that the photo verification certificate module is now active, and candidates with discrepancies in their uploaded photographs can correct and verify their details by April 14.

It further mentions that the facility has been introduced for specific categories of candidates, including Non-Aadhaar applicants and Aadhaar/DigiLocker users whose application photographs show a mismatch. This is being done to ensure smooth verification of candidate identity. It will avoid issues during the examination and admission process.

As directed by NTA, candidates who have been flagged for photo mismatch, will have to upload an attested Photo Verification Certificate through CUET portal. The certificate must be duly verified as per the prescribed format provided by the authorities. Once uploaded, the submission will be reviewed by NTA.

Submissions made after the deadline will not be accepted in any case. Candidates are advised not to wait till deadline and to complete the correction procedure at the earliest to avoid last-minute technical issues.

How to upload photo on CUET UG portal?

• Visit the official CUET (UG) portal and locate the photo verification/correction link.
• Open the direct submission option for document upload.
• Alternatively, scan the QR code provided in the notification to access the correction page.
• Upload the attested Photo Verification Certificate and submit details
• Wait for NTA to review and approve the uploaded document

The CUET UG 2026 examination will carry a total of 250 marks and will be divided into three sections. As per the marking scheme, candidates will be awarded five marks for every correct answer, while one mark will be deducted for each incorrect response. The exam will be conducted in 13 languages, including English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Gujarati, Odia, Bengali, Assamese, and Punjabi.
