Deakin University GIFT City campus opens admissions; fee set at Rs 10 lakh
Deakin University India campus is offering masters programmes in business analytics and cyber security with fee approximately Rs 10 lakh each.

NEW DELHI : Deakin University’s GIFT City campus has commenced admissions for masters programmes in business analytics and cyber security for the academic session 2024-25. As per the fee structure announced by the India campus of the Australian university, the fee for each programme has been set at approximately Rs 10 lakh annually.
“The tuition fee for each program demonstrates the University's commitment to making quality international education accessible to students who aspire to gain global exposure without leaving their home country. Set at approximately 10 lakh Indian rupees per year, this represents a cost-effective option for students,” said an official statement from the university.
Elaborating upon the progress, Deakin University said that a dedicated team is currently being appointed to lead the GIFT City campus.

Graduates enrolling for the two courses will gain access to training, internships, and recruitment opportunities with the industry partners such as Infosys, Tata Consultancy Services, HCL, Xebia, NSE Academy, IIBX and others. The postgraduate courses are accredited by the Australian Computer Society.
Professor Iain Martin, vice-chancellor, Deakin University made the announcements on tuition fee, campus identity, and preparations for establishing campus were made at an event held in Gandhinagar. Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Australian education minister Jason Clare MP and other officials attended the event organised by the Australian government to mark the beginning of Australia-India educational partnership.

At the event, Pradhan said, “Today marks a historical milestone in the history of higher education in India, it is an occasion to envision the building of new India. The gift of these universities is a gift that India has been waiting for.”
“Deakin’s GIFT City Campus is a historic milestone in Australia-India education collaboration and a key development in our strategic goals to do more ‘with India, in India, for India’. It will enable Deakin to provide strategic resources and support for India’s growth journey by bridging and building capabilities in technology and business for sustained advancement as a digital economy,” the university VC expressed.
Deakin University is the first international university to get approval to set up a campus in Gujarat International Finance Tec (GIFT) City. The university announced in March to start with master programmes in business analytics and cyber security with a batch of 50-60 students initially.
