GATE 2025 February 16 Live: Day 4 shift 2 ends; exam paper analysis, MTech cut-offs

IIT Roorkee release the GATE 2025 response sheet along with the answer key soon on the official website at gate2025.iitr.ac.in.

As per eligibility criteria, candidates who qualify for GATE 2025 and fulfill any one the conditions are eligible for MTech admissions:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technology (BE or BTech) or in an appropriate area from recognised institution.
• Master’s degree in science or computer application or equivalent. 
• An IIT graduate or graduating from IITs with BTech degree and having an 8 CGPA on a scale of 10 (7.5 CGPA for SC, ST, PD candidates) can apply without a GATE score.

• There will be negative marking for a wrong answer in MCQs.
• One-third mark will be deducted for a wrong answer in 1-mark MCQ.
• For a 2-mark MCQ, two-third marks will be deducted for a wrong answer.
• There is no negative marking for wrong answers to MSQ or NAT questions.
• There is no partial marking in MSQ.

GATE 2025 February 16 shift 2 is being held for CE2, ST, XE, XL, and MN papers from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

GATE 2025 February 16 afternoon session exam has commenced at 2:30 pm. The second shift will be held for a duration of three hours and will conclude at 5:30 pm. 

The GATE 2025 February 16 shift 2 will start at 2:30 pm and will continue till 5:30 pm. 

As per GATE 2025 marking scheme, there will be negative marking in the multiple-choice questions (MCQs) carrying one mark and two marks. 1/3 mark will be deducted for wrong answer to a 1-mark MCQ while 2/3 marks will be cut for a wrong response in 2-mark MCQ. 

IIT Madras saw an increase in GATE cut-offs for the major MTech programmes last year, with the highest scores for computer science and engineering and integrated circuits. The institute will prepare the GATE 2025 cut-off once the exam is over, based on the number of candidates and the difficulty level of the exam.

GATE 2025 February 16 shift 1 exam has concluded at 12:30 pm. The forenoon session was held for a duration of three hours from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm.

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025 February 16 shift 1 has commenced at 9:30 am. The forenoon session will continue till 12:30 pm. Five papers are being held in the first session. 

As per the GATE 2025 marking scheme, each question in the exam will carry either one or two marks. There will be a negative marking for each incorrect answer. One-third marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer for one-mark MCQ. For every two-mark MCQ, two-thirds of the marks will be deducted for an incorrect answer. No  negative marking for wrong answers to MSQ and NAT questions and no partial marking will be followed for any question will be there.

The GATE 2025 dress code for male and female candidates is as follows: 

• Wear light weight clothes
• Avoid wearing clothes with too many pockets, buttons, metallic items
• Candidates are not allowed to wear a cap, muffler, shrug, stole, dupatta, or scarf
• Wear flip-flops or sandals
• Avoid wearing goggles, rings, bracelets, watches, belts.

GATE 2025 February 16 exam will be held in two shifts -- forenoon session will be held from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and afternoon session will take place from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
