'Great initiative to achieve NCF goals': Pradhan while launching 'Jaadui Pitara' for foundational stage

NEW DELHI: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has launched the 'Learning-Teaching Material for Foundational Stage (Jaadui Pitara)' today, February 20 at the Dr Ambedkar International Centre (DAIC), New Delhi.
The initiative will help achieve a broad range of curriculum goals of the National Curriculum Framework for Foundational Stage (NCF-SS) 2022 across the six development domains including the development of positive habits.
The Jaadui Pitara box is a collection of a variety of learning-teaching materials for the foundational stage from different sources for Class 3 to Class 8 students.

The box contains two layers and includes toys, games, puppets, worksheets, playbooks, activity books, children magazines, posters, charts in different languages, calendars, story cards, picture cards, alphabet cards in different languages, number cards, puzzles, experiment kits and much more.
The Jaadui Pitara box is made up of recycled materials and has been sourced from local artisans. Moreover it is also available in digital form.
In the launch event, Dharmendra Pradhan said, "According to the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the National Curriculum Framework, the future of the children will now be prepared with an atmosphere full of play-toys, stories-riddles, music, dance, painting and liveliness".

Highlighting the importance of the learning-teaching material, Professor Dinesh Prasad Saklani, Director, NCERT said, "Children are curious by nature and love to explore things in their way to learn with their own context. The word magic connotes children's curiosity to know 'what comes next'. The Jaadui Pitara has been developed as an exemplar of collection of learning teaching materials useful for teachers to enable play-based learning for 3-8 year-old children".
As per NCERT, teachers, trainers and parents can also create their own Jaadui Pitara by collecting, local toys, games, worksheets, activity books, story books and similar other things.
The event was concluded with a vote of thanks by Professor Sridhar Srivastava, Joint Director, NCERT.
